Pregnancy Yoga classes are designed to make Yoga suitable for women from fifteen weeks of pregnancy onwards, practising with their doctor or midwife’s approval. The classes include Asana (postures), breathing exercises and relaxation to maintain health and wellbeing through pregnancy and to prepare for labour. Good quality 65 cm gym balls are ideal for use in class and at home. Balls and yoga mats can be ordered to purchase through Adele.
I am not currently teaching a regular pregnancy Yoga class. If you would like to start a class or would be interested in adding your name to my contact list to be notified about future classes, please get in touch.
Mother and Baby Yoga, also known as 'Postnatal recovery Yoga', is a great way to enjoy gentle and appropriate exercise after having your baby. You can attend once your baby is 8 weeks old and you have had a postnatal check- up with your doctor or health care professional. This class will tone your core stability muscles and stretch away tension from the back and shoulders. Mum's report feeling "Great all over", "More relaxed" and "Good to be doing something with my body again". Its a very relaxed and friendly class during which your baby remains close to you throughout. You can be relaxed about feeding and changing your baby when required. This session is stimulating for you baby who is entertained with your movements, songs and scarves.
I am not currently teaching a regular Mother and Baby Yoga class. In this rural area, it is often difficult to find enough postnatal women to make these classes viable. If you are a group of 8+ women, it may be possible to set up a class for your group. Please contact me if you would like to be informed of any future classes.
